David Chiu was born in China and raised in the United States. A former restaurant owner and poker dealer, David has earned a reputation as one of the best Limit Hold 'em players in the world.

David credits much of success to a childhood injury that left him with a 35% hearing loss. He says the concentration it took to compensate for this loss resulted in the development of his people reading skills - a talent that has helped him greatly at the poker table.

David first brought his amazing talent to the 1981 World Series of Poker where he placed fourth in the $1,000 Ace to Five Draw event. Five years later, David took fourth again in the $1,500 Limit Hold 'em event at the 1986 WSOP.

Over the years, David worked to improve his game. His dedication paid off in 1996 when he won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the $2,000 Limit Hold 'em event. Two years later, in 1998, David added to his resume when he won the $500 Limit Hold 'em event at the L.A. Poker Classic. Just three months later, he won another gold bracelet in the $3,000 Limit Hold 'em event at the 1998 WSOP. Amazingly, it wouldn't be his last.

In 2000, David won another coveted WSOP bracelet in the WSOP $5,000 7 Card Stud event. Two years passed and David secured second place in the $2,000 Limit Hold 'em event at the 2002 WSOP, further cementing his reputation as one of the world's best Limit Hold 'em players. In 2005, David won his fourth WSOP bracelet in the $5,000 Omaha Hi/Lo event.

It's safe to say David's move from behind the table to playing the table has paid off, as he has earned more than $2.3 million and cashed in more than 25 WSOP events over the course of his career.
