Knowing when To bluff can extend your poker game.Pin pointing when to bluff is where many players make their mistake. If you don't time it right you can end up losing the hand or ending your tournament play.



Bluffing is an art form, being able to use this this strategy to the fullest is key to you making it 'in the money'. You can use this strategy along with the 'all in' play to steal the blinds and antes if the levels of the game are at that stage where the use of antes are is in effect.









By bluffing you can win some pots that you otherwise would lose if you did not use this option. When timed right, bluffing can become a normal part of play with certain hands you get. For example, many players will go 'all in' with A-d A-s before the flop I don't have to tell you A's don't always win, getting A's looks real good before the flop; you have to be cautious of this because after the flop that could all change the outcome dramatically.



So much so that you may have to fold those A's if you don't hit very important because you have to make the decision if you will continue it to the turn or river when you have big slick. Depending on what the flop has in store, you will have to be ready to toss your A's in the muck.



If the flop were to come Kd Qd 9d, you may think twice about getting A's. When the flop shows a flush draw, don't be mistaken that you can still win that pot. I have seen many go down, in this very situation.



Now you can try to bluff at this point, to get to the river if you want to feel the field out. Depending on who raises, checks or re-raises you may be in a good position. If everyone checks, be very cautious they too could be setting a trap.



If no one raises, that maybe a sign that you should make it large enough to knock all weak player out. Only the ones with something or those who are also bluffing will stay in the game. It gets tricky at this point, the river bets if any are key as

well.



Chances are all who are still in will either raise or check if they all check, go for it they have nothing. Always remember this, just as you are in it on a bluff everyone else can be using the same play.
