Erica may no longer be a professional model, but that doesn't mean she can't make money off her looks at the poker table. While many of her competitors spend their time staring at Erica, she makes them pay for their distraction by taking their chips.
From an early age, Erica showed a natural talent for numbers and logic, winning a math championship in her hometown of Akron, Ohio, and regularly crushing her family's card games. While she played many different games growing up, blackjack became her passion.
After leaving college, Erica worked as a model and personal trainer, supplementing her earnings by playing blackjack.
Wanting to take her game to an even higher level, Erica began studying with members of the infamous MIT Blackjack Team. Her profits soared even higher and, when she appeared on the Game Show Network's World Series of Blackjack, Erica scored a second-place finish in her episode, demonstrating that her training had paid off in spades.
While blackjack remained her passion, Erica caught the poker bug after playing a home game with several friends, including Phil Hellmuth. It didn't take long for her to settle on Hold ‘em as her new game of choice, and in late 2005, she began to devote herself to the game full time.
Erica made her first major tournament appearance at the 2006 Five-Star World Poker Classic where she finished 16th, taking home approximately $118,000. Then, in June, she cashed in the World Series of Poker $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold 'em event, finishing 69th in a huge field of more than 1,100 players. Erica topped off 2006 with a fifth-place finish in the Five Diamond World Poker Classic, earning another $40,000.
