Eyebrows were raised as Cecilia Borg, from the Västerbotten province in northern Sweden, stormed home to land the bet365 Poker Leaderboard Challenge 2007/08.

Staying true to her Arctic roots, 22 year-old Cecilia Borg played it cool to defeat the best that Poker at bet365 has to offer to triumph in the poker leaderboard tournament finale.

She walks away with guaranteed seats at every iPoker-supported land based EPT and WPT poker tournament this year and a real chance of starting a poker career.

“I can’t wait to play in Monte Carlo, Barcelona and London. I haven’t travelled that much so it really is exciting”, proclaimed the 22-year old student teacher, more used to playing bet365’s $20 Sit and Go Tourneys from her living room.

Quizzed about the possibility of going pro after such an impressive performance, Borg left the door ajar, stating that “if all goes well at the WPT and EPT tournaments, we will have to wait and see."

And who would bet against this student teacher from Sweden making the grade?
